Courts Approve Settlements in Suits against Alexandria and the Navy

What a blockbuster beginning to 2024!

Within days of each other, courts approved settlements in our lawsuits against Alexandria and the Navy to stop them from polluting the Potomac River!

In Alexandria, we can look forward to the city’s clean up of decades-long coal tar residue pollution fouling the Potomac and to an environmental project restoring freshwater mussels to the Potomac along the Alexandria waterfront.  And now, the Navy will be required to obtain a Clean Water Act permit to minimize the pollution impacts from its weapons testing in the Potomac, which has gone on for more than 100 years.
