SUMMARY:Explorations with Your Riverkeeper: Harpers Ferry Walking Tour w/ Shenandoah Riverkeeper
DESCRIPTION:Join Shenandoah Riverkeeper Mark Frondorf for SRK’s first-ever\, one-of-a-kind walking tour through historic Harpers Ferry — and Mark is bringing in serious firepower. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be joined by David Fox\, who served for 30 years as the interpretive ranger at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. David doesn’t just know the history — he brings it to life. From John Brown’s raid to African American history\, from the collision of natural and cultural forces to the powerful role the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers played in shaping our nation — this is storytelling at its best. \n\n\n\nAs we walk the cobblestone streets and narrow passageways\, you’ll see how two rivers converging at a single point helped alter the course of American history. \n\n\n\nAnd for those of us who may not be quite as spry as we once were navigating the river by canoe or kayak\, this is your chance to experience the river’s story with both feet firmly on terra firma — safely removed from White Horse Rapids (known in George Washington’s day as The Spout\, after he surveyed the Potomac following the French & Indian War). \n\n\n\nWe are intentionally limiting the size of this group out of respect for other visitors and the tight quarters of historic Harpers Ferry. Registration is capped\, and online sign-up is limited to two slots per person. \n\n\n\nIf you’ve ever wanted to understand the intersection of rivers\, rebellion\, resilience\, and revolution — this is your moment. \n\n\n\nHarpers Ferry is known for uneven steps and historic (read: unpredictable) terrain. Please wear sturdy\, comfortable footwear. Once you register\, we’ll send detailed information about parking and the required shuttle to the lower town. Definitely allow ample time for parking and taking the shuttle bus. \n\n\n\nSpots will go quickly — don’t wait. Come walk history with us! \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTRIP DETAILS\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nArrival Location:Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center171 Shoreline DriveHarpers Ferry\, WV 25425\n\n\n\n\n\nArrival & Check in Time: 9:30 am\n\n\n\nShuttle Departs: Every 10-15 minutes\n\n\n\nEstimated Tour Duration: Approximately 90 minutes\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Price Per Person: $30\n\n\n\n\nIncluded with each registration: \n\n\n\n\nShenandoah Riverkeeper Guidance\n\n\n\nSRK Swag Bag\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nReusable water bottle (please no single-use plastic bottles or glass)\n\n\n\nWear proper footwear\n\n\n\nSunscreen\, hat and rain gear\n\n\n\n\nTo do in advance:\n\n\n\n\nPRKN Waiver – Participant Waiver\n\n\n\nPlease fill out and return by EMAIL to ashley@prknetwork.org\n\n\n\n\nNote:  We strongly recommend arriving at the parking lot no later than 9:30 AM.
